Book Description:
The planet Lusitania is now inhabited with three intelligent species--humans, the indigenous
pequeninos (piggies), and a hive queen and her descendants (buggers). The planet, however,
is teeming with descolada, a sentient virus essential to the life cycle of the planet
natives, but deadly to humans. Ender Wiggins and a group of aliens try to find a solution to
the problem. Sequel to "Speaker for the Dead."

This is the LOC version or the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically
Handicapped (NLS) - it is not a commercial release. The NLS, Library of Congress,
administers the free program that loans recorded and braille books and magazines,
music scores in braille and large print, and specially designed playback equipment
to residents of the United States who are unable to read or use standard print materials
because of visual or physical impairment.

The books are recorded at a slower speed (15/16) and use a 4-track system which allows
you to fit more on a tape thus reducing the number of tapes sent. Each tape has 4 tracks,
ie 4 (ABCD) instead of 2 (AB) sides and each side can hold 90 mins, instead of the normal
45 mins. Making each tape equal to 4 normal commercial tapes. These tapes are sent "free
matter for the blind or handicapped" and listen to and then returned so that other
listeners can enjoy the book - so needless to say many of these books have been around
a while and so quality varies. Though each is more than good enough to enjoy, they are
not subject to commercial 'high quality' standards and have been listened to many times,
so please don't complain to me about quality - if you can do better, do so.
